Community Services Institute, Inc. (CSI) on Tuesday, May 21 at 12:30 p.m. will dedicate its library to Dr. George Moraitis at its clinic at 1695 Main St., Springfield.
CSI’s Dr. Frank Sacco, of Agawam, will say a few words to reflect on Moraitis’ life and their brief relationship, followed by a reception. Prior to his death last year, Moraitis donated his library of books on psychoanalytic studies to CSI.
Moraitis, formerly of East Longmeadow, was a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst for 40 years, serving on the faculty of Northwestern University Medical School. He also taught psychoanalysts at the Chicago Institute for Psychoanalysis and later the Berkshire Psychoanalytic Institute. Moraitis was the author of several publications and co-editor of Psychoanalytic Studies of Biography.
